Benalmadena Pueblo

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

Benalmadena Pueblo is one of the most beautiful and typical andalusian style villages. Narrow streets, geraniums, all the visual ideas associated with Andalusia can be found in this Costa del Sol town.

You can taste a good coffee in the little pubs with terraces, have a good and typical meal in many restaurants, and language is not a problem, in a large number of them, employees speak english.

Anyway, we cannot forget there are a large English community all over the Costa del Sol, and they will be pleased to help you for anything you need ;-)

Malaga Cathedral

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

In a previous post we mentioned about the Malaga Cathedral. Well, what follows is a nice night view of the Cathedral main door and the Palacio Arzobispal. It is not a photoshop collage. Both monuments are one in front of the other in a nice plaza called “Plaza del Obispo“. An small corner of the paradise for having a drink or an ice cream rounded by such wonderful art pieces.

A walk for Torremolinos

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

In another post we speak about aubergines in honey, a delicious tapa that you can find in Pueblo Blanco, Torremolinos.

Yesterday I went to the same restaurant, and I took these pictures of the Torremolinos area.

If you want to do some shopping in Torremolinos you need to go to Calle San Miguel (San Miguel Street). It´s the commercial area, you can buy clothes, parfums, have a good cake and a little expensive in Lepanto or cheaper and very good ones in La Goyesca.

Feria del centro

Feria del centro

Malaga is offering these days its best touristic attraction. In the pic on the left a view of the main street, Calle Larios, garnished and ready to receive all visitors to the fair. If you wish to share a wine with friends dancing and tasting the famous ‘tapas‘, no doubt, the Feria del Centro is the best place. La feria del Centro is best visited from 14p.m. to 18p.m. Do not expect to find any shop or bank opened after midday.

In the next picture, the typical fair clothing.

Flamenco in Feria de Malaga

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Yesterday, I went to a Flamenco Show in the “Feria de Malaga”.

It´s a great moment to have  a cup of very cold Cartojal (Malaga typical wine) and see the marvellous show for free.

Malaga is now in Fair. Many foreigners come to visit the crawded city center in the day-fair, also known as “feria del centro” but there is as well a night-fair (Real de la Feria). Tapas, Rebujito, Cartojal, horses, sevillanas, toros… The right place to spend a couple of days dancing, walking around the city and drinking the most popular malaga wines. The best hours to visit the Feria is from 14 p.m. to 18 p.m. but if you prefer to know the night side of this fiesta, do not forget visiting Real de la Feria from midnight, where fair continues until sunrise.

Not just beaches and sitting in the sun

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

Visiting La Costa del Sol offers multiple choices from sitting in the sun nearby the Chiringuito to tourist routes along the inside villages. One of most beautiful of these villages is Yunquera. It is situated about 60 kilometers from Malaga and from Marbella. In the way to Ronda and in the heart of Sierra de las Nieves. A nice trip that really worths for its nice sights over La Costa del Sol and ancient morisques buildings, for example, la Torre Vigía.

Visit Sierra de las Nieves for an overview about the tourist development plans for this area.

Torre del Mar is beetween Rincon de la Victoria and Nerja.
